Getting started with trace
For the C-SPY E20 emulator, before you start C-SPY you must choose E1/E20 Emulator>Hardware Setup and select Trace as the Emulator mode.
Note
If you are using the C-SPY simulator, the E1, E2, or E2 Lite or EZ-CUBE2 emulator or the J-Link debug probe, you do not need to perform this step.
Start C-SPY and choose C-SPY driver>Trace Settings. In the Trace Settings dialog box that is displayed, check if you need to change any of the default settings. For more information, see Trace Settings dialog box.
Note
If you are using the C-SPY simulator, just start C-SPY.
Open the Trace window—available from the driver-specific menu—and click
the Activate button to enable collecting trace data.Start the execution. When the execution stops, for example because a breakpoint is triggered, trace data is displayed in the Trace window. For more information about the window, see Trace window.
