IAR Secure Deploy - Prototyping

Prototyping workflow

In this section:
  1. First time operation

When the IAR Secure Deploy – Prototyping application is started for the first time, it will display the Options view and ask you to select a product package directory and to import a Factory Production token.

  2. Exporting Security Appliance certificates

The product package to be provisioned must be built to match the Security Appliance that you are going to use. For this reason, you must export Security Appliance certificates and transfer them to the partner that is creating the production package.

  3. Importing a product package

If the product list does not contain the product you are going to provision, you must import a product package (.ppkg) created using an OEM Embedded Trust tool, which includes IAR Embedded Workbench with the IAR Embedded Trust add-on and the OrBIT command line application. The importer will verify that it has been signed correctly and is compatible with the Security Appliance.

  4. Provisioning devices

When all hardware (cables, programmers, and boards) has been connected, you can start provisioning the boards with a product package, using the IAR Secure Deploy – Prototyping application.
